Midsummer Fire Festival Continued

In yesterday's blog post Krigarre shared some info about where to find the Festival bonfires, so today I would like to tell you about the other Midsummer Festival quests this year, and what rewards you can get for them.

Besides visiting the bonfires in minor towns, in each capital city there is a Master Fire Eater, who you can visit to learn the art of torch juggling. For the first quest he gives you, Torch Tossing, you receive some practice torches which you must toss onto one of a series of braziers while they have a red target arrow above them.

The torches are used exactly the same way you would use an engineering grenade. If you are having a hard time hitting a brazier before the arrow moves, it may help to put the torches onto your action bar. Hit 8 targets in the time limit to complete the quest and receive 5 Burning Blossoms, some money, and some experience.

For the second quest, Torch Catching, you must stand next to the blue bonfire to light the practice torch, throw it high in the air, and catch it. This quest gives many people a lot of trouble, because the torch flies so far. The easiest way to do it is to aim your veiw downwards, facing the ground, and follow the shadow of the torch as it travels through the air. You may need to turn the game's graphics settings up to see the shadow better. If you are standing directly on the shadow when the torch lands, you will catch it, and toss it in the air again a short distance. Catch the same torch four times in a row and you will complete the quest, receiving 5 Juggling Torches and 5 Burning Blossoms.

After completing the two quests you may do them both again once a day, however you will have to hit 20 braziers in the time limit, and catch the torch 10 times in a row.

The currency of the Midsummer Fire Festival, is Burning Blossoms. These items can be used to relight any of the festival bonfires, giving you a temperary buff, or to buy items from a Midsummer Merchant at a capital city. The items you can buy are:

Handful of Summer Petals - 2 Burning Blossoms
Elderberry Pie - 5 Burning Blossoms
Fire-toasted Bun - 5 Burning Blossoms
Midsummer Sausage - 5 Burning Blossoms
Toasted Smorc - 5 Burning Blossoms
Mantle of the Fire Festival - 100 Burning Blossoms
Vestment of Summer - 100 Burning Blossoms
Sandals of Summer - 200 Burning Blossoms
Brazier of Dancing Flames - 350 Burning Blossoms
and Captured Flame - 350 Burning Blossoms

Whew, and there are still more Festival quests you can do.
