We have a new offical mascot...

…The Exodar Moth!

Thank Dawnmist, who planted the germ for this idea. She went and bought one and that started others doing the same. So after some discussion it was decided…the Exodar moth is the official pet/mascot of The Draenei Covenant!

They’re sold at the Exodar by a moth seller named Sixx, located in the Crystal Hall, as shown below. They come in three colors, blue, white and gold. Dawnmist and Nisou have opted for the white one, while I’ve chosen the yellow one. There’s a fourth moth (red) sold in Netherstorm, costing 10 gold.

Now this doesn’t mean you’re REQUIRED to have one, but in the name of guildly solidarity, shouldn’t you really?

Guild Quest: ‘Anthon’s Recipe’ Complete!

We did it! This past Saturday we got Anthon his Green Dragonscale Leggings recipe (see the post just below). Not just one, but two dropped from the same group of Murk Worms in Sunken Temple! The second will be sold in the auction house to raise cash for a third vault tab.

Thanks and Gratz to the team members and friends who participated…Pooba, Anthonarus, Alyse’s Night Elf alt Allisie, our good friend Zeodrain…(and me…)!

Got a unique ‘drop’ you need to improve your professions? Let’s line up the next quest!

Guild Quest: Anthon’s Recipe

A new idea…the Guild Quest! Something that needs to be accomplished by the Guild for the good of the Guild and its members.

First up…Anthonarus is our premier leatherworker (267), and he needs a recipe that can only be found in The Temple of Atal'Hakkar, a.k.a. ‘Sunken Temple.’ The recipe is Green Dragonscale Leggings and is dropped by Murk Worms, but is rather rare (1.73% chance to drop).

We have enough good people to even try this with two teams of four! But certainly we can get a strong team of 5 to recover Anthonarus’ recipe.

Let's talk macros...

Macros are very useful things. They’re also hard to understand (at least by me!) because like all programming, each letter and space needs to be EXACT or the macro won’t work. This takes effort that reduces playing time. Plus, there are limits to what macros can do. You can’t use more than one spell/effect that causes a global cool-down, for example.

But there’s no doubt that they can be VERY useful! I posted a coordinates macro in the blog here and here. But I’ve also developed a good, basic warrior macro that’s handy when farming a group of mobs, or adding some quick reaction time in the battlegrounds.

I call this macro ‘Charger’ and it does three things with one click:

1 - Select an enemy (the same way as if you hit the ‘tab’ button).

2 - Use the ‘Charge’ effect.

3 - Use Heroic Strike.

In the macro window, it looks like this:

I plan on making a variant of this macro for use in battlegrounds that will select an enemy attacking a member of my party, then do steps 2 and 3.

There’s some good basic macro information here, here, here, here, here and here.

If you have a macro you like to use, let me or Strago know about it! We’ll write it up here and help others.
