Let's talk macros...

Macros are very useful things. They’re also hard to understand (at least by me!) because like all programming, each letter and space needs to be EXACT or the macro won’t work. This takes effort that reduces playing time. Plus, there are limits to what macros can do. You can’t use more than one spell/effect that causes a global cool-down, for example.

But there’s no doubt that they can be VERY useful! I posted a coordinates macro in the blog here and here. But I’ve also developed a good, basic warrior macro that’s handy when farming a group of mobs, or adding some quick reaction time in the battlegrounds.

I call this macro ‘Charger’ and it does three things with one click:

1 - Select an enemy (the same way as if you hit the ‘tab’ button).

2 - Use the ‘Charge’ effect.

3 - Use Heroic Strike.

In the macro window, it looks like this:

I plan on making a variant of this macro for use in battlegrounds that will select an enemy attacking a member of my party, then do steps 2 and 3.

There’s some good basic macro information here, here, here, here, here and here.

If you have a macro you like to use, let me or Strago know about it! We’ll write it up here and help others.
