The Prodigals

As a guild, we’re not that old, only 7 months. But like all guilds, there are people who join, then move on to other things or characters and kind of forget about us, or real life intrudes and they can’t play for awhile. So the question has come up, how much inactivity should trigger removal from the guild?

As Guild Master, I hate the idea of removing people, and thankfully haven’t had to do it yet for any reason. After talking with the officers, though, it’s been decided that six months of inactivity warrants consideration of removal. The final decision will be mine, since I’m the only one in the guild with removal capabilities. Some cases may allow for more time; one long-time absentee told me he would be gone for some time. Others may be retained simply because they were key to the guild’s development and I VERY much hope for their return!

As always, when it comes to guild policy, please feel free to throw in your comments.

Tis a sad day to see a member go, but alas is life and from time to time we shall have people enter and leave our life for better or for worse only time can tell.
